Lahore: The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), commonly known as Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), has demonstrated the resilience of its infrastructure as Lahore faced an unprecedented 450mm of rainfall over three days. Despite the severe monsoon rains, CBD Route 47 and the CBD Quaid District remained fully operational, maintaining traffic flow and effective stormwater management.

According to Punjab Central Business District Development, CBD Punjab’s engineering, operations, and emergency response teams were deployed throughout the rainfall, continuously monitoring infrastructure and coordinating operations. The authority’s drainage network and pumping systems functioned effectively, keeping the project area operational despite the weather.

The performance of CBD Route 47 and the Walton Road Upgradation Project showcases CBD Punjab’s commitment to climate-resilient infrastructure that withstands severe weather while ensuring public safety. Although the Kalma Chowk Underpass and Walton Road Upgradation Project are managed by WASA and the Walton Cantonment Board respectively, CBD Punjab provided technical support during the monsoon, enabling efficient water management and traffic operations.

CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin commented on the infrastructure’s performance, highlighting its value during demanding conditions. He noted the successful operation of CBD Route 47 as a reflection of CBD Punjab’s planning and engineering excellence. CBD Punjab remains committed to providing technical support to safeguard public mobility during heavy rainfall.
