Islamabad, Caretaker Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Madad Ali Sindhi, has called for significant reforms within the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), advocating for the expansion of its domain and inclusivity. His directives include increasing the disability and transgender quotas in all NAVTTC programs, emphasizing the need for a more inclusive approach to vocational and technical education in Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a NAVTTC meeting held in Islamabad today, Sindhi underscored the importance of extending NAVTTC’s reach to the provinces, proposing that this expansion would better serve Pakistan’s diverse populations and contribute to the country’s development. Additionally, he highlighted the critical role that universities could play in broadening the scope of NAVTTC, suggesting that partnerships with higher education institutions could enhance the quality and relevance of vocational training programs.

These proposed changes reflect an ambitious effort to reform Pakistan’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector, aiming to create more opportunities for marginalized communities while also strengthening the workforce’s overall skill set.

Speaking at a ceremony dedicated to the safeguarding of children from online hazards, Dr. Saif highlighted the challenges and the essential measures needed to ensure a safe online environment for the younger generation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the event also featured remarks from the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Hafeez Ur Rehman, who reiterated PTA’s commitment to fostering a secure online space. He emphasized the authority’s focus on the protection of youth and children, acknowledging the growing concern over their vulnerability to online dangers.

The ceremony underscored the government and regulatory bodies’ concerted efforts to navigate the complexities of internet safety, aiming to implement strategies that shield children from the potential risks associated with their digital activities.
