Bhopal Woman Seeks Divorce Over Disappointed Honeymoon Destination

Bhopal, A woman in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, has filed for divorce from her husband after he took her to Ayodhya instead of the promised honeymoon destination of Goa.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Shail Awasthi, an advocate at a family court in Bhopal, reported that the couple had planned to visit Goa for their honeymoon. However, unbeknownst to the wife, the husband booked flights to Ayodhya and Varanasi. He disclosed this change in plans only a day before the trip, citing his mother’s wish to visit Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony as the reason for the alteration.

The wife’s divorce petition highlighted that financial constraints were not an issue, as both she and her husband are well-employed, making an international honeymoon feasible. Despite this, her husband chose to stay within India for the honeymoon.

In her petition, she expressed dissatisfaction with her husband’s prioritization of his family’s wishes over her own. Following their return from Ayodhya, she proceeded to file for divorce.

This case sheds light on the personal dynamics and expectations within marriages, particularly around significant events such as honeymoons, and how these can impact marital relationships.
