Belarus to Establish Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing Plants in Pakistan


Islamabad: An agreement has been reached between Pakistan and Belarus to establish Belarusian agricultural machinery manufacturing plants in Pakistan. This decision was part of the recent developments from the seventh session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission held in Islamabad, co-chaired by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, and Belarusian Minister for Energy, Aleksei Kushnarenko.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the session culminated in multiple agreements including the transfer of agricultural technology and the creation of joint ventures between high-tech Belarusian and Pakistani companies. In the automotive sector, both nations are looking into a Public-Private Partnership with the Minsk Automobile Plant. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed in the textile sector during the session.



Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan called for increased trade diversification and expansion of the current trade volumes between the two nations. He identified significant growth potential in the textiles and automotive manufacturing sectors and invited Belarusian investors to explore these opportunities in Pakistan, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council.



Belarusian Minister Aleksei Kushnarenko reiterated his commitment to enhance cooperation with Pakistan across various key sectors including heavy machinery, agriculture, textiles, and automobiles.
