Bangladeshi Academicians Visit Pakistani Universities to Bolster Educational Ties

Islamabad: A delegation of academicians from Bangladesh has embarked on a visit to Pakistan to enhance academic cooperation and build institutional linkages between the two countries’ higher education sectors. The initiative seeks to strengthen collaboration in research, education, and cultural exchange.

According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the delegation’s visit commenced with engagements at several universities in Sindh, including Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) in Jamshoro, and Iqra University, NED University of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), and the HEJ International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) in Karachi. At LUMHS, the delegation was received by senior faculty and engaged in discussions on contemporary developments in higher and medical education. The visit included a tour of academic departments and interaction with international students at LUMHS.

The visit to Iqra University was marked by discussions on bilateral cooperation in higher education, focusing on joint research initiatives and academic partnerships. Both sides expressed interest in developing long-term collaborations. The delegation’s visits to NED University, IBA, and HEJ ICCBS involved discussions on academic cooperation and research collaboration, with particular focus on engineering, technology, and scientific research.

A significant outcome of the visit was the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the University of Rajshahi and HEJ ICCBS Karachi. These MoUs aim to facilitate collaborative research, faculty and student exchanges, and institutional partnerships, reflecting both sides’ commitment to advancing cooperation in various disciplines.
