Dhaka: The Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) engaged in a bilateral meeting with Pakistan’s High Commissioner, Imran Haider, to discuss initiatives aimed at boosting trade between the two countries. The meeting, held at the BKMEA office in Dhaka, was attended by several directors from the association.

According to Press Information Department, the discussions centered on implementing activities under the memorandum of understanding between BKMEA and the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA). The talks included plans for joint business-to-business meetings. BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem extended an invitation to Pakistani firms to take part in the Bangladesh international textile, knitting, and garment industry exhibition set for January 2027 in Dhaka, with the objective of enhancing supply chain synergies.

The High Commissioner expressed his commitment to facilitate all necessary cooperation, aiming to strengthen bilateral trade and commercial ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
