Quetta: The Department of Health in Balochistan has mandated that all non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved with maternal and child care projects in the province secure a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the provincial coordinator of the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) program. The directive aims to streamline resource utilization and prevent project overlap within the region.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the decision was communicated through a circular from the Director General Health Services Balochistan. The new policy requires NGOs to acquire an NOC before initiating any related activities. Furthermore, the circular states that previously issued NOCs are now void, and organizations must reapply under the new guidelines to continue their operations.
This measure ensures that NGOs collaborate with the provincial health administration, thus optimizing the impact of health interventions on the targeted populations. The process for reapplying and the specific requirements for the NOC have been detailed in the guidance issued to the organizations.
