New York: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has reiterated his country’s unwavering commitment to the UN and multilateralism. Addressing a delegation from the United States Army War College, Ahmad emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to international peace, security, and development.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad described the United Nations as a crucial platform for collective action on issues such as human rights, climate change, and emerging challenges like artificial intelligence and information technology. He also highlighted the comprehensive and evolving relationship between Pakistan and the United States, which includes cooperation in security, defense, intelligence, counter-terrorism, and economic sectors.
During his briefing, Ahmad underscored Pakistan’s proactive role in fostering regional peace and stability, particularly through dialogue and diplomacy. He noted Pakistan’s efforts in mediating between the United States and Iran, reflecting the country’s commitment to regional and international cooperation.
