Islamabad, In a proactive measure to enhance security and maintain public order, Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir has directed the imposition of Section 144 in Islamabad. The decision aims to mitigate any potential disturbances and ensure the safety of the city’s inhabitants.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the enforcement of Section 144 is a critical step taken to prevent illegal gatherings within the city limits. Authorities have warned that legal actions will be pursued against any violations of the order. The police have specifically advised women, children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions to avoid such gatherings due to the associated health risks and potential exacerbation of their conditions.

The heightened security measures come amid concerns over the use of non-lethal tactics to control crowds, which may inadvertently affect citizens with respiratory issues. In anticipation of these risks, local hospitals have been placed on high alert to provide necessary medical care if needed.

Furthermore, the Islamabad Capital Police reported that cases are being registered in connection with unauthorized assemblies that occurred the previous day. The police force is actively encouraging community cooperation to report any suspicious activities or objects to the nearest police station or through the “Pukar-15” emergency helpline.

This initiative reflects the commitment of the Islamabad Capital Police to enforce laws diligently and foster a secure environment for all residents, aligning with broader efforts to maintain peace and order in the nation’s capital.
