Archbishop Gallagher to Make Historic Visit to Pakistan


Islamabad: Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See, will embark on a three-day official visit to Pakistan starting Thursday. Invited by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the visit marks the first by an official of his rank from the Holy See to the country.



According to Radio Pakistan, the visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the Holy See. Archbishop Gallagher is scheduled to meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to discuss interfaith harmony, dialogue, peace, and other regional and international issues. He is also expected to meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and engage with members of the Catholic community in the country.



This visit represents a significant milestone in the relationship between the two states, underscoring their commitment to strengthening mutual understanding, cooperation, and trust while promoting interfaith harmony and peace.
