APHC Leader Safi Lauds PM Shehbaz Sharif’s UNGA Speech on Kashmir and Palestine Issues

Islamabad: Ghulam Muhammad Safi, the Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) AJK chapter, praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his compelling speech at the United Nations General Assembly, which highlighted the ongoing struggles of Kashmiris and Palestinians. Safi highlighted the speech during his visit to Kashmir Media Service, where he also reiterated the Kashmiri people’s commitment to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Safi discussed the Prime Minister’s efforts to internationalize the Kashmir issue, emphasizing that local elections within Indian-controlled areas do not substitute for the UN-mandated plebiscite needed to resolve the region’s status. He asserted that India’s control over Jammu and Kashmir remains unjustified and contradicts international law.

During his statements, Safi called for immediate international intervention to facilitate a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute, similar to the longstanding crisis in Palestine, noting the broader implications of these conflicts on global peace and stability.

The visit also included discussions with APHC AJK Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmad Butt and member Zahid Safi, focusing on the importance of continuing international advocacy for Kashmiri self-determination.
