Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leadership has expressed warm felicitations to the people and government of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan National Day, celebrated on March 23, emphasizing the day’s historical significance and its inspiration to the Kashmiri people’s struggle for self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, various APHC leaders including Molvi Bashir Irfani, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, and others, in their messages, underscored the importance of the Pakistan Resolution of March 23, 1940, as a pivotal moment in the history of South Asia that instilled new energy among Muslims of the region. They appreciated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination and stressed the importance of a strong and stable Pakistan for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
The leaders drew parallels between the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle and the historical movement led by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, stating that Kashmiris are inspired by the vision encapsulated in the historic resolution. They reiterated their commitment to continuing their struggle against Indian occupation until Kashmir is freed and merged with Pakistan.
Additionally, APHC-AJK leaders in Islamabad, including Mehmood Ahmed Saghar and others, also extended their felicitations to Pakistan, acknowledging the country’s consistent backing of the Kashmir cause on international forums. They highlighted Pakistan as the sole hope and refuge for the Kashmiri people and called upon the international community to facilitate a resolution in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), in a statement from Brussels, congratulated the Pakistani nation on Pakistan Day, stressing the importance of a united and strong Pakistan for the Kashmiri cause. He emphasized Pakistan’s role as an advocate for Kashmiris globally and called for political unity within Pakistan to face challenges and advocate effectively for Kashmir’s right to self-determination.
The statements collectively underscore the deep historical and emotional ties between the Kashmiri struggle and the founding vision of Pakistan, calling for continued support and solidarity from the international community and the Pakistani nation.
