Amir of Qatar and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Discuss Middle East Developments

Doha: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, convened in Doha to discuss significant regional and international developments, with a focus on the Middle East.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting, which took place at the Amiri Diwan and lasted over an hour, covered a range of topics including regional stability and international diplomatic efforts. His Highness the Amir expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in de-escalating regional tensions and supporting diplomatic dialogue. Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of attacks against Qatar and other Gulf countries, reaffirming his country’s support for Qatar’s leadership and its people.

The discussions emphasized the importance of international coordination and support for de-escalation efforts to ensure regional security, particularly in maintaining the smooth flow of energy supplies. Both leaders also explored ways to enhance bilateral relations, focusing on security, defense, and energy sectors.

The meeting included participation from high-level officials from both nations, including Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Ishaq Dar. In a private session, the Amir and Prime Minister Sharif exchanged views on ongoing developments and stressed the need for sustained coordination between their countries.

The discussions concluded with a luncheon hosted by His Highness the Amir in honor of Prime Minister Sharif and his delegation.
