Ambassador of Pakistan to China Engages in China-South Asia Expo and Cooperation Forum


Kunming: Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Khalil Hashmi, participated in the 10th China-South Asia Exposition and the 30th China Kunming Import & Export Fair in Kunming, Yunnan Province, on June 11, 2026. The events celebrated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China and highlighted the ongoing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Hashmi, alongside Yang Yang, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the expo. The Ambassador underscored the importance of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and emphasized the potential for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, industrial development, and people-to-people exchanges. Pakistan’s representation at the expo was marked by the participation of 130 companies and 327 exhibitors, indicating strong interest in exploring trade opportunities in China.



During his visit, Ambassador Hashmi, along with the Vice Governor, toured the exhibits, interacted with business representatives, and encouraged the use of the expo as a platform for strengthening commercial partnerships. He also addressed the 7th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, emphasizing the partnership between Pakistan and China as a model for South Asian countries, and called for enhanced connectivity and sustainable development within the region.



The Ambassador’s engagements extended to discussions with Chinese media, where he elaborated on Pakistan’s views on bilateral relations, regional connectivity, and economic cooperation. These activities underscored Pakistan’s commitment to fostering economic diplomacy and enhancing trade and development partnerships with China and the South Asian region, aiming to boost regional connectivity and shared prosperity.
