Ambassador Baloch Advocates for Reviving Silk Road Spirit at UNESCO Seminar


Islamabad: Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch participated in a seminar focused on the Traditions of the Silk Road and Intercultural Dialogue, held at UNESCO to commemorate the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations. Ambassador Baloch outlined the historical significance of the Gandhara civilization and the strategic location of Taxila on the Silk Road, emphasized the importance of rekindling the Silk Road’s spirit through dialogue and mutual understanding, and underscored UNESCO’s role in promoting multilateralism.



According to Press Information Department, the seminar was part of a series of activities marking the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations, which also featured Pakistani cuisine as a representation of the cultural diversity inherent in the Silk Road tradition. Ambassador Baloch highlighted the need to foster respect for cultural diversity and encourage peaceful cooperation through constructive engagement, aligning with UNESCO’s mission to advance intercultural dialogue.
