Islamabad: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik met with the Qatari Ambassador to Pakistan, Ali bin Mubarak Al-Khater, to express gratitude for Qatar’s timely LNG support during critical energy shortages. The meeting focused on reinforcing future energy cooperation and ensuring strategic storage solutions.

According to Press Information Department, the minister thanked Qatar for its assistance in providing LNG cargoes during a period marked by congestion in the Strait of Hormuz and heightened summer power demand. The continuous support reflects the strong ties between the two nations, with two LNG cargoes already successfully delivered to Pakistan. Malik emphasized the importance of securing energy supplies from friendly nations while ensuring safety and continued supply, with efforts underway to address national energy needs.

Qatar’s ambassador reiterated his country’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s energy requirements, acknowledging the longstanding relationship between the two countries. He also praised Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability. The discussion highlighted the ongoing regional conflict’s lessons and the development of Pakistan’s Energy Security Policy to enhance resilience against external disruptions.

Both parties agreed to maintain close coordination, reinforcing their commitment to stable and reliable LNG and energy supplies.
