Ali Pervaiz Malik Assures Support for Foreign Investment in Pakistan’s Energy Sector

ISLAMABAD: Ali Pervaiz Malik, Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum, has pledged the government’s full support to boost local energy production and encourage foreign investment in the country. This commitment was made during discussions with representatives from international energy companies in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions involved key figures such as Gregory Bloom, President of Morgan Hughes Energy, Ahmed Waleed, CEO of Tejara Capital, and Karen Gallagher, CEO of Vitol Asia. Morgan Hughes Energy and Tejara Capital are collaborating on mineral projects in Balochistan, while Vitol Asia recently commenced bunkering operations in Gwadar.

The meetings resulted in agreements to invest in Pakistan’s energy and critical minerals sectors. Bloom expressed interest in investing to enhance output from Pakistan’s current oil and gas fields. Malik congratulated Vitol Asia on launching its operations and assured complete governmental support for its initiative to convert high-sulfur fuel oil into very low-sulfur fuel oil. The discussions also covered opportunities under Pakistan’s new bonded storage policy.
