Chicago: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has extended an invitation to Pakistani-American business leaders to invest in Pakistan, emphasizing the country’s readiness for economic transformation. Addressing a gathering in Chicago, Iqbal highlighted the efforts made by Pakistan to stabilize its economy and create a favorable environment for investment.

According to Radio Pakistan, Iqbal urged the diaspora to leverage their capital, expertise, and global networks to support Pakistan’s economic growth. He emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating investment and entrepreneurship, highlighting improved national security and regional peace as factors contributing to the conducive investment climate. Iqbal also introduced the URAAN Pakistan initiative, aimed at achieving a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2035 and a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047.

During his visit, Iqbal engaged in discussions with representatives from the University of Chicago to enhance cooperation in public-sector reforms and higher education. The two sides agreed to collaborate on training civil servants, curriculum reforms, and expanding efforts on climate resilience through joint programs on emissions trading, energy policy, and weather forecasting.
