ISLAMABAD: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has called upon the private sector to take a leading role in harnessing the economic potential of Phase-II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Speaking at a review meeting in Islamabad, the Minister emphasized the importance of expanding exports as a national priority, with a target of achieving $100 billion by 2035 to ensure economic viability.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting was held to assess progress on the CPEC Action Plan for 2025-2029. Minister Iqbal highlighted the necessity of enhanced cooperation between the government and private sector to boost competitiveness and promote the “Made in Pakistan” brand on a global scale. He underscored the critical need for political stability as Pakistan seeks economic transformation, urging political forces to unify in efforts to strengthen the economy through national unity, reforms, and improved governance.
