Afghan National Arrested in Connection with Multiple Robberies in Islamabad

Islamabad: An Afghan national has been arrested by the Islamabad Police on charges related to multiple robberies, marking a significant step in the ongoing effort to combat crime in the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrest was carried out by the Sabzi Mandi police team using both technical and human resources. During the operation, police recovered snatched cash from the suspect’s possession. The individual had prior cases registered against him, and further investigation into his activities is currently underway.

DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq emphasized that the police are intensifying efforts against criminal activities, particularly motorcycle theft and street robbery. He noted a reduction in such incidents due to these operations. Tariq urged officers to sustain the crackdown on criminal elements and ensure their prosecution. He also encouraged citizens to support the police by reporting any suspicious activities or objects to the nearest police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
