Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has emphasized the need for sustained attention and coordinated efforts to address the flood situation in Gilgit-Baltistan, highlighting the importance of ensuring maximum relief for those affected.

According to Press Information Department, Mr. Gilani articulated these priorities during a meeting with Deputy Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Malik Kifayatur Rehman. The meeting, held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, was also attended by former Forest Minister Muhammad Imran Wakeel of Tangir Valley in Diamer and former MPA from Kohistan Abdul Sattar Khan. Discussions included the broader political landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan, with Mr. Khan expressing gratitude for the establishment of a Degree College in Dasu during Mr. Gilani’s tenure as Prime Minister.

In a separate engagement, Justice (R) Irfan Qadir, Consultant Legal Affairs, updated Mr. Gilani on recent decisions related to representations filed under Section 14 of the Federal Ombudsmen Institutional Reforms Act, 2013, against federal-level ombudsmen orders.

Additionally, a delegation from the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), led by Chairman Usman Aslam Malik, met with Mr. Gilani to discuss issues pertinent to the country’s automobile industry.

In another meeting, Dr. Kaleem Zaidi and Resident Editor of Khabrain Multan, Syed Sajjad Bukhari, engaged with Mr. Gilani on matters concerning Multan and South Punjab. They acknowledged Mr. Gilani’s personal involvement in the region’s development. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar Jhammat from Darya Khan, Bhakkar, also met with Mr. Gilani to discuss local issues.
