Islamabad: Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has condemned the terrorist attack in Ziarat, attributing its sponsorship to India, and expressed grief over the death of nine police personnel. He reiterated Pakistan’s determination to combat terrorism and highlighted the nation’s solidarity with its security forces.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the Acting President stressed that terrorist activities will not achieve their goals. He emphasized national unity in the battle against terrorism, involving the Armed Forces, police, and law enforcement agencies. He confirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
Gilani acknowledged the security forces’ role in the operation that resulted in the elimination of 15 terrorists. He praised their courage and professionalism and assured the nation’s support for their sacrifices aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
The Acting President offered prayers for the martyred officers and condolences to their families, honoring their contributions as national heroes. He also emphasized the importance of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies as vital assets to Pakistan’s security and morale.
