Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani convened separate meetings with religious, political, and literary figures at Aiwan-e-Sadr today. Discussions centered on mutual interests, the national context, and public welfare matters.
According to Senate of Pakistan, attendees included Shahzada Murad Nazir of Darbar Mohra Sharif, Murree, former Member of Provincial Assembly Mian Jhangir Pirzada Bhutta, Faisal Sakhi Butt, and Rao Waqas. During his meeting with poet Rahman Faras, Mr. Gilani received copies of Faras’s books, acknowledging his contributions to literature and expressing well wishes for his future endeavors.
In the course of the meetings, Mr. Gilani highlighted the upcoming visit of Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League, anticipating that the visit would bolster efforts to enhance interfaith harmony and tolerance within the country.
