Abu Dhabi Marks Youm-e-Istehsal-Kashmir with Call for International Action


Abu Dhabi: The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi commemorated the fifth anniversary of Youm-e-Istehsal-Kashmir today, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The event, attended by members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities in the United Arab Emirates, served as a platform to renew calls for international intervention in resolving the Kashmir dispute.



According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi used the occasion to emphasize the severity of the situation in IIOJK, citing continuous violations of fundamental rights by Indian authorities. He condemned the actions taken by India on August 5, 2019, which he described as flagrant breaches of international law, including the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolutions. Ambassador Tirmizi stressed the critical need for the international community to actively engage in facilitating a resolution that aligns with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and adheres to international mandates.



During the event, the embassy also showcased a special documentary that depicted the harsh realities of life in IIOJK under Indian rule, illustrating the ongoing human rights violations and the resilience of the Kashmiri people. Ambassador Tirmizi reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, promising continued political, diplomatic, and moral backing for their cause.
