Islamabad: According to the WIN Worldviews Survey 2026, 42% of Pakistanis report experiencing stress frequently, aligning with the global average. The study highlights significant gender and age disparities, with women and younger adults reporting higher stress levels compared to men and older individuals.
According to Gilani Research Foundation, the survey reveals that 48% of Pakistani women experience stress frequently, compared to 36% of men. Age also plays a critical role; stress is reported by nearly half of those aged 18-34, contrasting sharply with just 24% of individuals aged 65 and above. This trend suggests that younger adults are approximately twice as likely to experience frequent stress compared to their older counterparts.
The survey, conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, involved telephonic interviews with a nationally representative sample of 1,000 adults across urban and rural areas in Pakistan. The data shows that while a significant portion of the population experiences frequent stress, a nearly equal proportion reports experiencing little to no stress. Globally, Pakistan’s stress levels mirror the average, but the findings underscore the pronounced impact of gender and age on stress experiences within the country.
