Islamabad: A high-level delegation led by Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede, Commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe, visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad to meet with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Upon arrival, Air Marshal Nzvede was honored with a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Air Force.
Discussions between the two Air Force leaders focused on strengthening military cooperation, particularly in capacity-building and operational training. Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized PAF’s support in enhancing the human resource and maintenance capabilities of the Zimbabwean Air Force.
Air Marshal Nzvede expressed interest in restructuring Zimbabwe’s Air Force training framework and sought PAF’s expertise. He acknowledged the high standards of PAF’s training programs and requested opportunities for Zimbabwe Air Force cadets to train at the PAF Academy Asghar Khan.
The Zimbabwean delegation also discussed the deployment of PAF personnel, including pilots and engineers, to aid in modernizing its Air Force. Additionally, the procurement and delivery of 12 Super Mushak trainer aircraft were highlighted as a key focus to enhance Zimbabwe’s operational training capability.
