Zhob Implements Strict Measures to Activate New Bus Terminal and Ease City Traffic

Zhob: In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion in Zhob city, a crucial meeting led by Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Naveed has laid out stringent new policies for the operation of local bus services and the full activation of the New Bus Terminal Zhob. The gathering, which included key local officials and transport stakeholders, marked a significant step toward centralizing bus operations outside the urban center.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting convened participants from various sectors including the Chief Officer and District Chairman of the Municipal Committee, DSP Police, members of the Anjuman Tajran, Transport Union, and the Shabza Malaysia Committee. Decisions made during the session included prohibiting the loading and unloading of transport buses within the city limits. Buses found to be loading in the city and heading towards Quetta will now face a one-hour detention at the New Bus Ada Levies checkpoint and will be subject to fines as a punitive measure.

Assistant Commissioner Naveed also directed the DSP Police Zhob to initiate a crackdown on all Transport of Dangerous Goods (TOD) offices throughout the city. Additionally, due to ongoing issues with the damaged bypass, only heavy goods vehicles like coal, cement, iron, and LPG trucks will be allowed into the city, while other traffic will be rerouted towards the bypass. These measures aim to streamline traffic flow and reduce the environmental and infrastructural burden on Zhob’s city center.
