Zhob Deputy Commissioner Visits IT Training Center, Highlights Educational Progress

Zhob: Deputy Commissioner Zhob, Mr. Mehboob Ahmed, made a significant visit to the IT Training Center in Zhob today where he met with staff and students, underscoring the center’s role in boosting local IT education and skills development. The visit highlighted the center’s contributions to training government employees and students, and its alignment with national vocational training initiatives.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during his visit, Mr. Mehboob Ahmed interacted with the center’s staff and the students actively participating in various IT courses. The IT Training Center in Zhob has become a pivotal institution in the region, largely due to the concerted efforts of the District Administration and the IT Center Head. In just one year, the center has successfully trained over 80 government employees, while also extending IT education to over 800 students from local schools and colleges.

The center is officially registered with the Zhob Trade Testing Board in Quetta and offers comprehensive programs including a 6-month Certificate in Information Technology (CIT) and a one-year Diploma in Information Technology (DIT). Furthermore, the IT Training Center has completed the necessary formalities with the National Vocation and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) to implement the Prime Minister’s Special Initiative for Information Technology Programme.

Adding to its list of achievements, the IT Training Center Zhob stands out as the first institution in Balochistan, outside of Quetta, to offer the DigiBizz Freelancing and Entrepreneurship program, aimed at fostering digital business skills among the youth.

This visit from the Deputy Commissioner not only highlights the educational strides being made in Zhob but also emphasizes the administration’s commitment to enhancing vocational and technical training across the region, potentially paving the way for greater economic and employment opportunities in the tech sector.
