Zardari Heads to China for High-Stakes Talks and Winter Games

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan is set to embark on a state visit to China from February 4 to February 8, 2025, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The visit aims to bolster bilateral relations with a focus on economic, trade, security, and geopolitical discussions.

According to a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Zardari will engage with Chinese leadership, including President Xi and Premier Li Qiang, in Beijing. The agenda includes talks on economic cooperation, counter-terrorism efforts, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The discussions will extend to future connectivity projects and regional geopolitical dynamics.

President Zardari will also attend the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin. This part of the visit is at the special invitation of the Chinese government.

The trip highlights the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two nations, reinforcing their strategic partnership. It serves to reaffirm mutual support on key issues, advance economic collaboration, and commit to regional peace and development.
