Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari marked International Labour Day by emphasizing the essential role of workers in Pakistan’s development and calling for increased efforts in their empowerment and skill development.
In a message released by the Press Information Department, Zardari recognized the contributions of the nation’s workforce, highlighting their significance in driving the economy and national progress. He stressed the need for fair wages, safe working conditions, and social protection for labourers.
Zardari pointed to the importance of equipping workers and the youth with modern skills to adapt to the evolving job market. He urged collaboration among governments, private enterprises, educational institutions, and civil society to create a comprehensive skill development ecosystem.
