Islamabad: In a significant development for Pakistan on the international stage, Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has been appointed as the Founding Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC). This designation marks a notable diplomatic achievement for the South Asian nation.
The official announcement was made through a press release by Radio Pakistan. The appointment will be formally recognized during the upcoming World Summit 2025, which will be held in Seoul, South Korea. The event is sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation.
The World Summit 2025 is expected to draw participation from five hundred representatives, including forty-five Speakers of Parliaments from one hundred and fifty countries. This assembly is aimed at fostering global parliamentary dialogue to tackle pressing issues like climate change, renewable energy, and water scarcity.
The ISC, headquartered in Seoul, serves as a global platform for parliamentary discussions focused on addressing these critical challenges. The appointment of Gilani as the Founding Chairman underscores Pakistan’s growing role in international diplomatic and legislative initiatives.
