Islamabad, August 19, 2021 (PPI-OT):Yaum-e-Ashur is being observed with due solemnity across the country today (Thursday), to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain Razi Allah ho Ta’ala Anho and his devoted companions in Karbala. Mourning processions are being taken out in various cities and towns, which are passing through their traditional routes and will culminate at their fixed points.
Ulema and Zakireen are highlighting the bright and candid teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.) and various aspects of Karbla tragedy. Elaborate security arrangements are in place and all security related departments are fully alert to avoid any untoward incident during the mourning processions.
In Rawalpindi, the central procession of Ashura emerged from Imambargah Col. Maqbool Hussain and heading towards its culmination point at Imambargah Qadeemi after passing through its designated route. The mourners will hold Sham-e-Ghariban Majlis at Imambargah Qadeemi.
Sabeels of water, milk and tea have also been set up along the route of the procession in remembrance of famine like situation faced by Hazrat Imam Hussain Razi Allah Ta’ala Anho and his companions. Strict security measures are in place to ensure peace and security. In Karachi, processions of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram were taken out from various parts of Karachi today.
The main procession from Nishtar Park is on its way and after passing through the traditional route will culminate at Imam Bargah-e-Iranian Hussaini at Maghrib. Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Police and other law enforcement agencies personnel have been deployed on the route and cellular services have also be partially suspended.
In Peshawar, the central procession of Ashra was taken out from Imam Bargah Agha Syed Ali shah Qissa Khwani Bazaar. The procession after passing through its traditional routes terminated at its starting point in the evening. Similar processions were also taken out in Kohat, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Kurram and Dera Ismail Khan Districts. Aerial surveillance of the procession routes is being carried out.
In Quetta, main mourning procession has been taken out from Nichari Imambargah at Alamdar Road this morning. The procession will culminate at Alamdar Road in the evening after passing through its conventional routes. More than six thousand and five hundred police jawans and officers have been deployed for security of Ashura processions in Quetta city.
