YFK and IPS Host Seminar and Awards on Kashmir Exploitation Day


Islamabad: The Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK), in partnership with the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), held a seminar and award ceremony yesterday to mark Youm-e-Istehsal, commemorating the exploitation of Kashmir following the revocation of its special status.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the event featured a panel discussion on the long-term effects of the abolition of Articles 370 and 35-A on Kashmir and its people. The panel boasted notable speakers including Dr. Shazia Sobia Somroo, a Member of the National Assembly from the PPP, Ambassador Syed Abrar Hussain, and Ms. Farzana Yaqoob, a former minister from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.



The seminar attracted a diverse audience, including students, scholars, members of academia, and think tank representatives, reflecting a broad interest in the evolving situation in Kashmir.



The event also celebrated the contributions of young writers through an article writing competition organized by YFK, which aimed to foster a deeper understanding and dialogue among youth about the Kashmir issue. Winners of the competition were honored with cash prizes, highlighting their insightful perspectives on the regional impact of recent political changes in Kashmir.
