New Delhi, July 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): The production of illegally detained Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Yasin, before the Indian Supreme Court in New Delhi, today, brought to fore the anti-Kashmiri bias of the Indian people and authorities.
The Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta, tried to blow out of proportion the presence of Yasin Malik in the apex court. The peace-loving Kashmiri leader was brought to the court in false cases registered against him. However, the Indian Solicitor General termed the production of Yasin Malik in the court a security risk. He even wrote a letter to the Indian Home Secretary, Ajay Bhalla.
Yasin Malik is facing a life sentence in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail after being convicted in a false case by a special court of India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) in May, last year. Tushar Mehta in the letter claimed that Yasin Malik’s presence in the Supreme Court was a serious security lapse and even claimed that he could have escaped, forcibly taken away or could have been killed.
Mehta further said that considering it a matter serious enough, he brought it to the notice of the Home Secretary for taking suitable action and steps. Mehta’s action also shows the cowardice of the Indians as they are afraid of a peace-loving and unarmed Kashmiri leader. However, the fact is that whenever an illegally detained unarmed and hand-cuffed Kashmiri leader or ordinary person is presented before any Indian court, scores of Indian police, paramilitary and army personnel escort him and huge deployment is made on the routes that lead to the court.
