World Tourism Day being observed today

Islamabad, September 27, 2023 (PPI-OT): The World Tourism Day is being observed today in Pakistan like elsewhere in the world to raise awareness about the importance of tourism and its impact on our society. This year’s theme is “Tourism and Green Investments”.

In his message on the day, President Dr. Arif Alvi said that day is being marked today to renew our pledge to consider the power and potential of the tourism sector in advancing the prosperity and progress of the region.

He said Pakistan is a country that is home to some of the world’s most fascinating tourist attractions, including the highest mountain peaks, stunning coastlines, beautiful lakes, lush green valleys, ancient civilizations, and a rich cultural heritage. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation and provincial tourism departments have planned various activities to celebrate the day.
