Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi, recently engaged in discussions with a high-level delegation from the British High Commission in Islamabad. The delegation, led by Mr. Cromac Dreelan, Head of Strategic Engagement and Understanding, and comprising Ms. Huda Ikram, Senior Political Adviser, and Mr. Ismail Khan, Principal Adviser (Foreign Affairs), focused on regional stability and cooperation in science, technology, innovation, and education.
Minister Magsi emphasized the strong relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, which is founded on mutual trust and respect. He expressed Pakistan’s commitment to collaborate with the international community for regional peace and prosperity.
He noted the growing confidence of the international community in Pakistan, highlighting its recognition as a responsible, peace-loving state. The Minister also condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza, urging the UK to take an active role in addressing these issues.
Regarding national security, Minister Magsi asserted that Pakistan’s armed forces are committed to defending the nation’s sovereignty without compromise. He reiterated Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, emphasizing its importance on global forums.
Mr. Dreelan acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in maintaining regional peace and expressed the UK’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in science and education. The meeting concluded with both parties resolving to strengthen bilateral ties and pursue shared objectives.
