Islamabad, In an effort to curtail the ongoing political instability in Pakistan, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has decided to initiate dialogue with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and other political entities concerning the formation of a new government. This strategic move was disclosed by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during a press conference held in Islamabad, marking a significant step towards achieving political concord in the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced the formation of a party committee dedicated to this cause, signifying the PPP’s commitment to constructive engagement in the nation’s political process. While the PPP has resolved not to participate directly in the federal cabinet, it plans to support the forthcoming government on critical issues, including budget approval, legislative actions, and the election of the Prime Minister, on an issue-to-issue basis.

The PPP Chairman clarified that given the party’s insufficient mandate for forming a government independently, he would not be vying for the Prime Minister’s office. This decision comes in the backdrop of outreach efforts by the PML-N towards the PPP for government formation, contrasting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) stance of refraining from negotiations with other political parties on this matter.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also addressed inquiries regarding the PPP’s ambitions to establish governments in Sindh and Balochistan and to contest for significant constitutional positions, expressing a particular interest in nominating former President Asif Ali Zardari for the presidency.

Despite acknowledging reservations about the election outcomes, the PPP Chairman emphasized the party’s acceptance of the results, calling on all political factions, including the PTI, to prioritize national interests over divisive politics. He underscored the urgency of fostering both political and economic stability in Pakistan, advocating for a departure from extremism and personal vendettas in the political arena.

This development signals a potentially transformative phase in Pakistan’s political landscape, with the PPP taking proactive steps towards facilitating government formation and advocating for unity and stability amidst challenging times.
