Lahore, September 19, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s former Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has said it is the time for the international community to accept that India has become a “rogue Hindutva terrorist state”.
He said this after Canada revealed India’s involvement in the killing of a Sikh leader, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, on its soil.
The 45-year-old Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a Sikh temple on June 18 in Surrey, a Vancouver suburb with a large Sikh population. Nijjar supported Khalistan state, an independent homeland for the Sikhs, by separating Punjab from India.
Pakistan People’s Party Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari speaking to the media in Lahore, today, said Canada has levelled a “big allegation” against India. He said India has been “exposed before the world”.
He said, “Till when the international community, particularly our friends in the West, will continue to ignore such events involving India. It is time for the international community to accept that India has become a rogue Hindutva terrorist state.”
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said, they (Indian government) have not only conducted terrorism in [occupied] Kashmir, not only we in Pakistan have caught their spies involved in terrorism in our country, but they have now been caught violating the sovereignty of a NATO-member state. “This is not only a violation of Canadian sovereignty. This is [also] a violation of international law and international norms. And the PPP calls – but Pakistan should call on the international community to stand with the people of Canada and highlight the atrocities of the religio-fascist that is today’s India,” he added.
It is to mention here that Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, in an emergency statement to the House of Commons on Monday said that the intelligence agencies of the country were “actively pursuing credible allegations” linking the Indian government agents to the murder of the Sikh leader. He said that any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen was “an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty”. Canada also expelled India’s top diplomat for a role in the murder of the Sikh leader. The expelled Indian diplomat, Pavan Kumar Rai, has been identified by the Canadian authorities as the head of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s foreign intelligence agency, in Canada.
In a retaliatory move, India also expelled a Canadian diplomat with five days’ notice to leave the country.
