World Leaders Applaud US-Iran Agreement, Acknowledge Pakistan’s Role

Islamabad: World leaders have expressed approval of a newly brokered agreement between the United States and Iran aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East. The deal, which includes an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, has garnered international support.

According to Radio Pakistan, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres extended his congratulations to both the US and Iran for reaching a peace deal and acknowledged the significant contributions of Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and other regional countries in facilitating the negotiations. Guterres, through a post on his social media platform, highlighted the constructive engagement of these nations in the peace process.

Iranian media reports that the Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has issued a statement confirming that the Memorandum of Understanding announced by Washington and Tehran will end hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and will result in the immediate lifting of the naval blockade against Iran. The council also expressed its gratitude to Pakistan and Qatar for their mediation efforts.

Additionally, nations such as Australia, Turkiye, Qatar, and the United Kingdom have recognized the roles of Pakistan and other countries in the successful conclusion of the agreement. The international community’s positive response underscores the collaborative efforts that have contributed to reducing regional tensions and promoting peace.
