World Habitat Day Focuses on Youth Engagement for Sustainable Urban Futures

Islamabad: World Habitat Day is being observed today, emphasizing the essential right to shelter and the significant role of youth in fostering sustainable urban development. This year’s theme, “Engaging Youth to Create a Better Urban Future,” aims to mobilize young people worldwide to address challenges related to rapid urbanization and climate change.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, spoke at an event in Islamabad highlighting the pivotal contributions of youth in developing environmentally sustainable cities. Alam underscored the importance of harnessing the energy, creativity, and perspectives of young people to achieve equitable and sustainable development across urban landscapes.
