World Environment Day Focuses on Combating Desertification and Building Resilience


Karachi, Today communities around the globe are observing World Environment Day, with this year’s theme spotlighting the critical issues of land restoration, desertification prevention, and drought resilience.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the United Nations Environment Programme, which has led the event annually since 1973, highlights World Environment Day as the principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. With millions participating worldwide, this day serves as a significant platform for discussing global environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices. This year, the event is hosted by Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the international commitment to tackling pressing ecological issues.
