Islamabad, The World Bank has granted $149.7 million in support of Pakistan’s initiatives to strengthen its digital economy infrastructure and enhance flood resilience measures. This financial assistance underscores a significant international effort to bolster Pakistan’s economic and environmental stability.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the World Bank’s allocation includes $78 million dedicated to the Digital Economy Enhancement Project, aimed at improving Pakistan’s financial management capabilities through advanced technological solutions and data analytics. This project is expected to streamline public services, promote transparency, and contribute to economic growth.

In parallel, $71.7 million has been earmarked for the Sindh Barrages Improvement Project, which focuses on augmenting flood resilience in the region. This funding is part of a strategic effort to mitigate the risks and impacts of flooding, safeguarding communities and fostering sustainable environmental practices.

The World Bank’s investment in these two critical areas highlights the ongoing collaboration between Pakistan and international financial institutions to address key developmental challenges.
