Work on Rohri-Karachi Rail Track to Begin in September, Says Railways Minister


Karachi: The Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, has announced that construction on the 480-kilometer Rohri-Karachi railway track is scheduled to commence in September. The project carries an estimated cost of $2 billion.



According to Radio Pakistan, Abbasi made the announcement while addressing a function in Karachi. He stated that Pakistan Railways and the Punjab Government have signed an agreement aimed at modernizing and expanding rail services throughout the province.



The Minister also highlighted that Pakistan Railways currently operates 14 schools nationwide to facilitate the education of its employees’ children. In an effort to enhance educational services, Pakistan Railways has entered into a partnership with ‘The International School’ to improve conditions at the Railway School in Karachi and ensure quality education for the children of its employees.
