Islamabad, June 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that work on Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway will be started on priority basis. Responding to a Calling Attention Notice, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi said the bidding process has been completed and now Executive Committee of the National Economic Council’s approval will be sought in the next meeting.
He said this project will be completed in 2.5 years after commencement of work. He said unfortunately, the previous government delayed the project for four years. The House also adopted a resolution, moved by Sabir Hussain Kaim Khani, recommending declaration of the old National Assembly building, which now houses the State Bank of Pakistan, as a national museum to preserve the country’s history.
The National Assembly today passed several bills.
These include; “The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021”, “ The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Bill, 2022”, “The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Bill, 2022”, “The Islamabad Community Integration Bill, 2020”, “The Pakistan Courier and Logistics Regulatory Authority Bill, 2019”, “The Diplomatic and Consular Officers (Oaths and Fees) (Amendment) Bill, 2022, “ The Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2022”, The National Assembly Secretariat Employees (Amendment) Bill, 2022”, “ The Limitation (Amendment) Bill, 2020”, “The Specific Relief (Amendment) Bill, 2021” and “The Criminals Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020”,
The House referred the following bills, as passed by the National Assembly and not passed by the Senate within the stipulated time of 90 days, to the joint sitting for consideration and passage. These bills include: “The National Information Technology Board Bill, 2022”, “Protection of Parents Bill, 2022” and “The Pak University of Engineering and Emerging Technology University Bill, 2021.”
Besides, “The National University for Security Sciences, Islamabad Bill, 2020”, “The Pak China Gwadar University, Lahore Bill, 2022”and “The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2022” were introduced in the House today, The Chair referred the bills to the standing committees concerned. The House will now meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
