ISLAMABAD: The Women Journalists Sports Gala commenced at the National Press Club with a ceremony led by Ethiopian Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker, who served as the chief guest and played the ceremonial first ball at Margalla Ground.
Dr. Beker, speaking at the event, underscored the importance of enhancing cultural and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Ethiopia. He stressed that sports play a crucial role in fostering national unity and contributing to a healthy society.
The ambassador highlighted that the empowerment of women is essential for the progress of any nation. He noted the sporting spirit shared by both Ethiopia and Pakistan, suggesting that such events can strengthen public relations between the two countries.
