Woman Arrested in Faisalabad Murder Case After 14-Year Manhunt

Toba Tek Singh, A woman, Musarrat Bibi, who was declared a proclaimed offender for her involvement in a murder case 14 years ago, has been arrested by the Faisalabad CIA staff police in Sargodha on Monday. This arrest marks the end of a prolonged search for the suspect in a case that has spanned over a decade.

According to Punjab Police, the case dates back to an incident involving the murder of Surayya Bibi from Ahmad Town, Faisalabad. Surayya allegedly had an affair with Manzoor Ahmad, the husband of Musarrat Bibi, and was pressuring him to divorce Musarrat and marry her. In response, Manzoor and Musarrat allegedly murdered Surayya and buried her body in their rented house. After the couple vacated the property, the body of Surayya was recovered by Faisalabad Saddar police from the same house.

While Manzoor Ahmad was apprehended by the police, Musarrat Bibi evaded capture and went into hiding. The recent arrest in Sargodha brings a significant closure to this long-standing murder case, showcasing the persistent efforts of the police in pursuing justice.
