The weather across most of Pakistan is expected to remain mainly cold and dry, with varying conditions in different regions.
According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the weather forecast for Friday indicates mainly cold and dry conditions in most plain areas of the country, with partly cloudy skies in the western regions. Northwestern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit Baltistan may experience cloudy weather with chances of light rain and snowfall over high mountains. Dense fog or smog is expected to persist in the plain areas of Punjab.
For Saturday, similar cold and dry weather is expected in most plain areas, with partly cloudy conditions in the upper regions. Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir are likely to experience rain and snowfall over high mountains. Drizzle is also forecasted for the Potohar region and northeastern Punjab. Fog and smog conditions are anticipated to continue in central and southern Punjab as well as upper Sindh during morning and night hours.
The past 24 hours have seen cold and dry weather prevail over most parts of the country, with extremely cold conditions in the northern areas. Isolated places in western Balochistan experienced cloudy weather and rain, with Nokkundi recording 1 mm of rainfall. The lowest recorded minimum temperatures were in Leh (-11°C), Skardu (-8°C), Kalam and Gilgit (-5°C), Gupis and Srinagar (-4°C), and Hunza, Dir, and Astore (-3°C).
