Weather Update: Light Rain Expected in Selected Areas, Dry Conditions to Prevail Elsewhere

Islamabad, The latest weather forecast indicates a generally dry and partly cloudy trend for most of the country in the coming days. However, light rain accompanied by wind or thunderstorms, with potential snowfall in higher altitudes, is predicted for specific regions.

According to a news release by National Weather Forecasting Centre, a westerly wave currently impacts the upper regions of the country. For Sunday, areas including Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and western Baluchistan may experience light rain or thunderstorms. The high mountainous zones could witness light snowfall. On Monday, while the majority of the country remains dry, there’s a possibility of light rain in parts of northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Reflecting on the weather conditions over the past 24 hours, most regions experienced partly cloudy skies, with cooler temperatures noted in the northern parts. Isolated rain was recorded in areas of Baluchistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Notable rainfall was reported in places like Kakul, Malam Jabba, and Murree, with 11 mm each.

Temperature data highlights some of the coldest regions with Leh recording a minimum temperature of -03°C, followed by Skardu at 00°C, and Kalam at 01°C.
