Weather Update: Cyclone ASNA’s Effects Diminish, Varied Weather Across Balochistan Forecast

Quetta: The Regional Meteorological Center Balochistan forecasts a mix of hot, dry conditions and stormy weather across different districts of Balochistan. As Cyclone Storm “ASNA” recedes, coastal areas are expected to see normal sea levels by Monday afternoon, allowing fishermen to resume activities.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, most districts in Balochistan will experience hot and dry weather on Monday. However, districts including Zhob, Shirani, Pashin, Qila Abdullah, Musa Khel, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Harnai, Ziarat, and Kuchchi could see rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder. Thunderstorms are also likely in Quetta, Mastung, Kohlu, and Barkhan. The same hot and dry pattern is expected to continue into Tuesday in most parts of the province, but stormy weather will persist in several districts including Zhob, Shirani, Qila Abdullah, Pashin, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Nushki, Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Harnai, Ziarat, Kuchchi, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Barkhan, Sabi, and Naseerabad.

Over the last 24 hours, Ziarat recorded the highest rainfall with 21.5 mm, followed by Loralai with 11.0 mm, and Sariab area of Quetta with 1.2 mm. The highest temperature was recorded at Nokundi at 41 degrees Celsius, with other areas like Dalbandin and Turbat recording temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius. Sibi registered 38 degrees Celsius, Lasbela and Panjgur at 36, Gwadar at 33, and Quetta at 32 degrees Celsius.

The effects of Cyclone Storm “ASNA” have diminished, and the sea level along the coast of Balochistan is expected to normalize by Monday afternoon. This improvement in conditions will allow fishermen to safely resume their activities from Monday evening.
