Weather Update: Cold and Dry Conditions to Prevail Across Pakistan, Rain Expected in Some Regions

Islamabad, The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Islamabad has issued a weather update indicating cold and dry conditions in most parts of Pakistan, with rain expected in certain areas. This forecast comes as the country experiences varied weather patterns.

According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, a westerly wave is likely to affect western parts of Balochistan this evening or night. On Thursday, most plain areas of the country are expected to remain cold and dry. However, cloudy weather with chances of rain is forecasted for the western districts of Balochistan. Additionally, fog or smog is anticipated to persist in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh during night hours.

The weather outlook for Friday remains similar, with predominantly cold and dry weather in most plains of the country, and partly cloudy conditions in upper areas. Cloudy weather with rain-thunderstorm and possible snowfall over hills is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northwestern districts of Balochistan. Fog or smog is also expected to continue in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh during morning and night.

The past 24 hours have seen cold and dry weather prevailing over most parts of the country, with particularly cold conditions in the northern areas. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded today include Leh at -11°C, Skardu at -07°C, Kalam at -06°C, Gilgit and Srinagar at -05°C, Gupis at -04°C, and Kalat, Rawalakot, Dir, and Astore at -03°C.
